I'm Four!

From Fall 2013

Four year olds can do everything.  It's so fun how proud Ruby is of being 4.  She literally tells everyone we see, "I'm four!  I had two birthdays!"  We interviewed her and made another little video  (Here's her video when she turned three).  The accuracy of her responses is a bit sketchy, but she was much more willing and pleased with herself when recording than last year!


Ruby had her 4 year well check today and did great!  No shots, just a flu mist.  She's 34lbs and 39in, 50% for both.  Dr. Plax can no longer hear her heart murmur, so she grew out of it this past year!

Sleep:  Ruby usually wakes up when Ada gets up in the morning and isn't always happy about that.  If we can sneak Ada out, she'll sleep until about 7 or 7:30.  Still an hour of rest time in the afternoon, but rarely a real nap.  Bedtime is still rough, but we're all working on it and I think we're moving in the right direction!
Eat:  Ruby is a fairly good eater.  She has gotten a bit pickier, but typically tries everything at least once.  She. is. a. very. slow. eater.  She'd do well in Europe or just snacking all day.  Her favs are typical for a preschooler; hot dogs, mac-n-cheese, pb&honey, pasta, fruit, hummus, and anything sweet!
Play:  Ruby still loves books.  Stickers and any other art project are also big hits.  She likes to play games (Candyland, Go Fish, Chutes & Ladders) and ride her bike.  She loves going to the park, library, and always plans trips to the zoo!  She adores school, plays and interacts much more with friends, and does more pretend play too.  Ruby can keep herself entertained for longer periods of time, but still prefers playing with Mom or Dad.  She and Ada play together so much now with Ruby dictating!
Personality:  Sweet and shy, but incredibly persistent!  She loves to be in control and can be a little perfectionist.
