Biggon

From Fall 2013
She's a "biggon".  That's what Ada says when she sees something big.

You know that moment when you look at your child and just know they grew overnight.  Yeah, that.  I'm pretty sure she went from baby to big kid the other night.

Thank goodness she still loves cuddles so I can pretend she's still my little babe!

Stats:  Bear Bear had her 2 year check up last week.  She weighs 28lbs (75%) and is 34in tall (50%).  She did great at her well check.  No shots, just a flu mist this time.  We will be taking her to get an echo because she has a heart murmur.  Dr. Plax heard the murmur before and is sure that it's benign, but we'll get it checked out to be sure.  Ruby had the same thing, had an echo when she was 1 1/2, and has grown out of it.

Sleep:  Ada's sleep habits are not very predictable or structured.  She wakes anywhere from 6:00-7:30.  We've tried to drop the morning nap again but she's so exhausted and seems to wake more at night, so we let her take 2 naps when it works out probably 50-75 % of the time.  She typically naps an hour and a half at a time.  Bedtime is pretty early, she's usually asleep around 7:00.  Ada sleeps with her lovies (we've gone through several and keep buying more when they fall apart!) and a bubby.  Ada is quite addicted to the bubby!

Eat:  Ada is a great eater.  She often out eats both Ruby and Momma!  She LOVES her milk.  Other favorites are mac-n-cheese, noodles, pretzels, most any fruit or veggie.

Talk:  As Ada is talking more and more one of her favorite phrases is, "I do!"  She hasn't quite figured out how to dress herself but she really wants to!

Interesting way to wear a skirt.

She's always telling us she needs to go potty.  I have no desire to start this process for awhile.

Ada has been singing all sorts of songs lately (but won't do it on camera, of course)!  I'm not sure anyone else would be able to figure out what she's singing, but we love to hear ABC's, Twinkle Twinkle, Jesus Loves Me, Itsy Bitsy Spider, and the Johnny Appleseed prayer. (The Itsy Bitsy Spider part was from a couple months ago, she usually sings along now.)

She's also figured out how to count.  She and Ruby will go back and forth:
R: one
A: two
R: three
etc...

Play:  Ada can always find a way to entertain herself, she'll play with any toy.  Ada wants to do everything her big sis does.  She loves to color and do stickers and whatever else Ruby's into.  They love to dress up, dance, play hide-n-seek, and run around and around the circle in our house.  At the park, Ada will climb up to the big slide and yell, "Ruby!  Come!"  As soon as Ruby says, "Coming" Ada will sail down the slide.  And repeat.

I'm pretty sure she thinks she's just as big as everyone else.  Makes Momma nervous!

It's been interesting to watch Ada at storytime each week without Ruby to follow.  She sticks pretty close to Mom and is an observer like Ruby, but she is getting more comfortable and involved.

This spontaneous toddler dance circle happened last week.

 So stinkin' cute!

She does a great job at Journey Kids.  Not sure how they actually do a lesson with 2 year olds, but she loves it!

Personality:  Ada is happy, happy, happy and also a bit stubborn (surprise, surprise!).  She is friendly to everyone and a snuggle bug too.  Our little Bear thinks her role is Family Comedian and will do anything to get a good laugh out of Mom, Dad, and Ruby.  She's pretty good at her job and always keeps us laughing!
