Hoppy Halloween

Happy Halloween!  The girls have been so excited for the big day.
From Fall 2013
Ruby could not decide what to be this year.  We have a whole box of dress up clothes including a ladybug costume my mom just found at a garage sale and several new things I made for birthday presents, so I wasn't too concerned.  I really wanted them to be "Super Girls" and wear the capes and masks I made, but they wanted nothing to do with that of course.  I decided Ada would be the froggy because that seemed to be her favorite.  Ruby, however, didn't decide until the day before her Halloween party at school that she wanted to be a princess.  And even then, only committed to that particular costume for school.  Trick-or-treating was a separate deal!

Ada was thrilled to be a froggy and Ruby made a pretty pretty princess.  The two costumes actually kinda coordinated.  They had a little parade at preschool and sing-a-long for the parents and then went back to their classroom for a party.

Halloween day turned out to be pretty dreary with lots of rain so we stayed busy weaving a spiderweb and watching The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown.

I didn't think Ada really had any idea what we were doing, but we put her froggy costume back on and she kept saying "pop, pop".  It took me a second to realize she knew we were going to get candy and she was saying lollipop!

If you could hear her saying "Ribbit!" and see her hopping it would be even cuter!!!

Ruby finally decided to go with the owl costume tonight.

(The wings are my fav!)

We splashed our way down the street under umbrellas, but it was warm out so not too bad.

The girls think being out in the dark is the coolest thing ever and loved knocking on doors to fill up their buckets with treats!  Ada wouldn't let go of her bag.  She gave up the umbrella so she could hold on tight to her candy!  They were (fairly) satisfied with two treats when we got home and didn't get to bed too late.  We figure we need to adjust for daylight savings time this weekend anyway.

Hope you had a fun Halloween too!
