I had been teasing Steve that he needed to start playing some sports with his daughters because Ruby and Ada have no idea there is a difference between baseball, football, and golf! So last weekend Steve decided that he'd have a daddy-daughter date with Ruby. They took the train downtown before the Cardinals game so they could see the hoopla and walk around the stadium. Here's Steve facebook post about the adventure:
I decided Ruby needed to go down and see the spectacle that is the MLB playoffs in St. Louis. So, Ruby and I headed down on the train at about 2:30 for a 3 o'clock game. We didn't have tickets, but I thought it would be neat for her to see anyway. When we got there, we were walking around outside the stadium and a woman asked if we had tickets. I said we didn't and she said they had just won a pair of good tickets and had two standing room only seats left over. That's how Ruby and Dad got to go to the Cardinals game and see a couple innings in some pretty good spots. The remainder of the 5 innings we stayed were spent with Ruby taking a break eating some popcorn and lemonade. I think she preferred the train ride and popcorn to the game, but I guess that's the lure for a 4 yr. old.
Can't believe he actually left a play-off game before the end, but he was pretty excited he got to take his big girl! Plus he knows exactly why those people gave him their tickets! Wonder if he'll try again during the World Series!
What a wonderful story! Cute as a bugs ear!
