Now We Don't Have to Put Our Kid on a Leash

We got the greatest (early) anniversary gift.  Nope, not diamonds.  No, not a trip.  No fancy electronics.  We got gates.  The girls can no longer run sprint down the driveway to the front yard while I chase them yelling "STOP!"  Hmmm, I wonder what the neighbors do now without the daily entertainment.  Probably just listen to them scream from the backyard.  Oh well, at least they're locked in.
From Summer 2013

In all seriousness, the gates have probably added a few years to my life.  Ruby and Ada are both runners.  Ada thinks it's the world's most hilarious game to run away from Mommy.  Ruby did the exact same thing at this age.  Remember?  That's how I hurt my back when I was preggers with Ada.  Running after and grabbing toddler when you have a large belly is not a good idea.  Now there is a small piece of fence connecting either side of our house to the neighbors' fences with (child-proof) gates so we (the adults) can easily get in and out.  I can now SIT on a chair on the patio and enjoy being outside.  It's a-mazing dude.
