I think when the 4th of July falls on a Thursday it's the best situation, a nice long weekend!
Ruby was excited to make the 4th of July snack recipe from her Highlights magazine.
(Strawberries, blueberries, vanilla yogurt, and granola- yum, yum!)
We went to our friend's house again this year on the 4th for a breakfast picnic and watched the parade. The girls had a blast! Ada sat right on the curb with the big girls until a dog, horse, or loud vehicle came along, then she would scurry back to Mom.
The weather was drastically different from last year when it was 105 degrees. A nice 85 degree morning was perfect!
Ruby even got her face painted (Ada wasn't interested).
We hung out a napped at home in the afternoon and went for a walk/bike ride.
That girl is one tough cookie!
Then we grilled out for dinner.
The girls love eating outside on our patio.
what's 4th of July without s'mores?!
Well the girls weren't too sure about them (Ruby has an aversion to brown foods!)
Oh well, s'more for me!
Fair St. Louis always takes place over the 4th of July with air shows, fireworks, and free concerts down by the Arch. Steve and I went a few times over the 10 years we've been here and it's always
hot fun. I discovered that the Counting Crows were playing on Saturday night and luckily found a babysitter! The girls stayed home with our friends Megan and Seth while Steve and I had a rare date night.
hothot
Dinner at "Sauce on the Side" a calzone restaurant, Counting Crows live outside, and fireworks under the arch. So fun!
Love it!
ReplyDeleteBut Ruby, Chocolate is brown..... Glad to see Ada doesn't have the same issue with S'mores!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a very fun weekend! Nice fireworks pic too!
