We had so much fun in Hutchinson over Memorial Day weekend for Sam and Logan's wedding. It was a great weekend but didn't get many great pictures- sorry for the blurriness and, yes, I did steal many of these pics from FB!
We flew up to Minneapolis Friday morning where Gaga and Grandpa picked us up. My girls are excellent fliers by now. People in the airport are amazed at these two tiny girls with backpacks on their backs pulling our big suitcases! Daddy got them new headphones so as soon as we boarded the plane they started Frozen on the ipad and were good to go!
We drove to Hutchinson and quickly checked into the hotel to get Ada down for a short snooze before the festivities began. The drive was just a little over an hour but the girls were getting antsy. My mom and I tried to distract them by pointing out things to look at. Ruby was noting everything she saw, "I see a barn out my window, there's a cow on Ada's side," etc. Then Ada pipes up, "I see a monkey out my window." She proceeds to tell us it was brown and when I asked what it was doing she says, "Ummm, this!" and does her robot dance. Gaga was almost in tears from laughing so hard. When we got to the hotel we had a really nice suite with a jacuzzi tub which was in the bedroom. The girls ran into the room ahead of us and Ruby exclaims, "Mom, the bed is in the bathroom!"
After Ada's brief nap we met everyone at the church for rehearsal where Ruby was confused why Logan didn't have his toe shoes on (not to worry, he wore them for the actual ceremony!) Then we went over to Logan's parent's house for dinner. The girls were spoiled by everyone and were enamored with Logan's 10 year old niece, Erin.
On Saturday morning Sam, Mom, Connie (Logan's mom) and I had a fun spa treatment. We pampered our hands, feet, lips, eyes, and skin while enjoying lots of yummy treats! The guys took the little girls swimming and visited an animal park that morning. And when I asked what they had for lunch Ada whispered, "Ice cream!" Thanks Grandpa! Another quick nap for Ada and then back to the church to get ready and take pictures.
Don't we look relaxed, rejuvenated, and years younger?
How beautiful is this bride?!
I hope the professional pictures turn out this cute!
Sam and Logan wanted a small, low-key wedding and it turned out so, so nice. The bride and groom celebrated with about 30 guests. The ceremony was hot but beautiful. We had a delicious dinner at a nice restaurent in town (where I blubbered through a toast- sorry about that guys, it made way more sense when I wrote it) and someone *cough* Ruby *cough* kept dinging her spoon on her glass!
Husband and wife! And so happy!
Seriously, isn't she gorgeous?!
Best picture I got of my girls all day?!
Then we went back to the hotel for cake, wine, and fun. There was some late night dancing that followed too! Ruby and Ada were obviously exhausted but looking forward to cake (their highlight!) and fun. Sometime after 9 my mom asked Ruby if she was ready for bed and, after nearly reflexively saying "no!' she agreed. First time in 4 1/2 years I saw her willingly give hugs and walk up to bed.
This girl has been looking forward to the cake for weeks!
Great family photo ;(
We all headed back to Logan's parent's Sunday morning to open presents and then we headed back to the airport.
It was a whirlwind of a trip and the girls looked like this by the time we got back to our car,
but it was worth it. We had so much fun and were so glad we got to celebrate Sam and Logan's special day!
I got out of the shower this morning and heard Logan cracking up so I went to see what was so funny and it was this post! LOVE to see the pics and hear about those cute and silly girls. Ada by the cake is the best!
