Christmas Couch

The "biggest" Christmas gift we got in 2019 was our new couch, although it wasn't meant to be a Christmas gift.

This is the last picture I can find of either of the couches... like I said, "well loved"

We ordered the couch in late July, before we closed on the house in hopes that we wouldn't have to move our old couches.  They were great, so comfy, but bought in 2003 before we were married.  After 2 toddlers turned kids jumping on them for years they were, shall we say, well loved and in need of replacing.

December 18.  Finally.

After a weekend in Austin searching several furniture stores and sitting on more couches than we could count, we settled on a sectional with a pull out sofa bed from Pottery Barn.  We were excited to get them on a pretty big sale, 30% off if I remember right.  The original ship date was mid to late September so we ended up moving the old couches in August after all.  The ship date then continued to get pushed back further and further, mid-October, early November, late November, early December.  At this point I was mostly worried that they were going to eventually say, sorry we can no longer get that fabric/make that specific couch, but PB assured me it was coming.  Once it finally arrived they gave us another 25% off for the inconvenience.  I know this is totally first world problems, but it's a funny story, and turned out pretty great on our end.

There she is.  Can you spot one of the old couches in the background?

It's honestly not my favorite, not nearly as comfortable as our old couch, but at less than half the original price, we got a pretty good deal for such a large piece of furniture.

We also got a fun new chair (and a couple more after Christmas).
