Kitty Cats

Somehow Ruby and Ada had it in their heads that if we ever moved to a new house we would get a cat.  Every time we went to look at our new house this summer we would see cats in the yard or neighborhood, so we kept joking that they were "getting" their cats.  Little did we know the neighborhood drama going on over these cats.  The previous owners moved out (out of state) about three weeks prior to closing and apparently left their cats here.  Understandably, the neighbors were upset about this and the family across the street from us agreed to adopt the cats.  (To be fair, we've been told that the previous owners left the cats for another family who was rehabbing a home in the neighborhood.  However, this other family just moved in in October.)  From what we know, the cats were kittens when the previous owners moved in last fall and they have always been outdoor cats.  We think they are about a year old now.  The cats get feed outside across the street, but our house is their "home" so they are here most of the time.

Misty, the gray one, is a girl and so so sweet.  She really would make a great indoor lap cat.

Twilight, the black one is a male, bigger and quite a stinker.  He's always sneaking up and pouncing on Misty and it's obvious he is the king of the entire neighborhood.

We love having them around.  They hang out with us in the back whenever we are in the pool and greet us each morning and afternoon.   Ruby says, "They're like 50% ours!"  However, Ruby nor Ada let us forget that they still want an indoor cat of their own!
