Ada is 8

eight is pretty great

Ada had all sorts of ideas for her birthday party this year as usual.  She has been OB-SESSED with the Descendants so we knew that would be the theme.  I wasn't quite ready for the sleepover party she wanted, so we settled on a sleep-under.  She invited a handful of girls to come Friday evening for Descendants crafts, pizza, cake, and the Descendants 3 movie of course!  Ada had a blast, it was lots of fun, and pretty easy-peasy.

Happy Birthday cutie!

so excited to wear her Mal costume and checking out her other presents

Ada's birthday fell on a Friday this year, so we did donuts and presents before school.  She had been begging for a "Mal" costume so she got that (double duty for Halloween!), a badminton set, a mermaid tail for the pool, a fuzzy vest she had her eye on, craft sets, books, and other fun toys.  Oh, and Descendants pjs for her party of course!

lunch with my birthday girl

I brought her Busch's Chicken for lunch.  For those non-Texans, it's one of about 25 fried chicken fast food places and it's the worst.  Literally 25 out of 25, but that's what she wanted.  It was pouring rain that day and I had been in and out several times and when we sat down to start to eat, Ada discovered that her beloved gravy was missing.  Yes, gravy.  Eww.  Her eyes filled with tears and I didn't have the heart to let her cry on her birthday, so I packed her up, went back out through the pouring rain, got the gravy and rushed back to school to eat.  Oh my word!

ice cream for dinner

Since we were having a bunch of girls over for pizza that night, she decided she wanted ice cream for dinner- my kind of girl!  We went to Baskin-Robbins and you better believe she had the chocolate, sprinkled dipped waffle cone!

her purple cake turned out pretty cute
