Sick. And Sick. And Sick.

This girl is as funny as ever,
From Winter 2015-16
and has been a trooper
From Winter 2015-16
even though she has been sick quite a bit again this fall.

Ada napped a few days a week this spring and then dropped them all together over the summer, however we've been finding her like this from time to time the last few weeks.

Instead of playing, she crashes in her rocking chair or bed during her quiet rest time in the afternoon.  A sure sign she's not feeling well.

(By the way, I LOVE how she keeps her lambie in her shirt.  #cutestthingever)

We all had horrible colds that lasted and lasted.  I got a steroid shot, was on two different antibiotics for a sinus infection and had a prescription for a cough mid-November.  Ada picked it up and, sure enough, woke up one night crying that her ear hurt.  The poor girl's ears are a mess, every time she gets sick it settles there.  The left ear was infected (which is the one that her tube came out this summer).  She had one more day of antibiotics when Ruby woke up in the middle of the night crying that her ear hurt.  Ruby is our healthy girl, so we knew immediately she had an ear infection too.  Luckily, she missed one day of school and once she was on the antibiotic she was fine and it cleared up quickly.
Before Ru had even finished her prescription, I had to take Ada back in because of a horrible cough but was told ears, throat and lungs were clear.  Less than a week later we were back at the clinic after being up in the night with ear pain again.  They both have been in pretty good spirits all things considered, and Ada isn't really bothered until she lays down.  In fact, they love going to the doctor because of the stickers and lollipops!

Needless to say, we've had a steady stream of antibiotics going on here.  Ada's left ear is infected again and the pediatrician said we should have the eardrum looked checked out.  They haven't really been able to see the right ear at all because of ear wax, but apparently the tube seems to be out of place in that one as well.  We have an ENT appointment after the new year and I'm hoping he can clear our the right ear and we will discuss putting new tubes back in.  We would appreciate prayers for healthy travels!
