It's Officially Official! Finally!

I should probably let Steve write this post!

I think he breathed a huge sigh of relief today.  After nearly a year of job searching and a many month long process he was officially hired today at the Center of Excellence for Research on Returning War Veterans in Waco, TX.  http://www.mirecc.va.gov/visn17/  It is a great position in which he will be doing research on TBI and PTSD.  I am very proud of him and we are excited for our new adventure.

As I (so subtly) alluded to, we have known about the job for sometime which has given us ample time to prepare.  Lots of cleaning, organizing, purging, and painting!  Our house has been on the market since Thursday.  It's a great house, we really love it.  You should buy it.  Or tell your friends to buy it.  Or, at the very least, pray that someone will buy it.  Okay, thanks!

I miss my red kitchen, but this certainly does photograph well.

I love that we have these great pics of our house.  And, yes, it is always that clean.  Ha!  I've mostly been trying to keep the girls out of the house so it stays neat.  They've really been doing a great job of keeping it clean though.  Ruby told me she made her bed so nice that someone would really want to buy it- bless her!  And another day, on our way out she said, "Uh-oh, I forgot to fluff my bed."

Now that the job is official, the house is listed, the girls are enrolled in preschool in Waco, the next steps are selling the house and finding somewhere to live in Texas.  If you know anything about Waco please share!

  3. Congrats to all! Especially to Steve - we know it has required many years of HARD WORK to get to this point. The house looks beautiful AND a little unnaturally tidy. he-he. As for Waco - never been there but I imagine it's HOT. Love you all and can't wait to see you.

  4. Yay! Congrats to all and I hope the move goes as smoothly as possible. Jaime's sister lives near Houston, so we may come visiting some time. Last time we were in Texas was 4th of July week--kinda hot there, but great swimming pools :)
