Waco

Steve and I got to take a quick trip to Waco last weekend to check out our new hometown.  It was fast, HOT,

and a bit overwhelming but a fun and productive trip.  We visited a preschool and mom's day out program, looked at several houses, got our bearings in the city, had dinner with Steve's new boss, and even did a little sight-seeing.  (Thank you, thank you, thank you to my mom and dad for taking care of the girls while we were gone!)

We are excited for Steve to start his new job on the 22nd!

We knew we wanted to try to find a house to rent in Woodway, just outside Waco.  Steve had checked out the neighborhood when he was there this spring and really liked it and it's in a good school district.  We were a little stressed that there weren't many (any!) houses for rent in Woodway but everything totally fell into place while we were there.  The first person we were supposed to meet with to look at a couple houses didn't show up so we just drove around the neighborhoods a bit and decided to drive by a house we had seen advertised that was bigger and more expensive than we wanted.  They were having a yard sale at the house so we stopped and talked to them.  The house was already rented, but the man there told us about another house he knew that was for rent in Woodway.  He not only gave us the address, but waved us down as we drove away and gave us the phone number as well.  We called and the owners told us to come right over and look at it.  It was exactly what we'd been hoping for; 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom nice house in the right area.  The girls were excited to see this adorable playhouse in the backyard!

We ended up talking to the family for quite awhile and have emailed and talked on the phone multiple times since then.  It's so crazy how God works and we feel so fortunate to have a nice place ready for us when we get there!

Now we just need to sell our house in STL (keep praying!), throw a birthday party for an almost-5-year-old, have a going away party and a couple going away dinners/happy hours, and pack up our entire house.  And say goodbye to all of our friends, everything we know, and this city we fell in love with.  Ahhhhh!

But we have things like this to look forward to!

Bahahaha, it will be an adventure for sure!
