Check Ups

We have had a full schedule lately as there is so much to do to get ready for a big move.  We've all had dentist and doctors appointments this last week.  The girls had their yearly check-ups a bit early so we could take care if it at our clinic before we left.  I will post their yearly stats in a later post, but thought I'd share the traumatic experience now.  I didn't realize when I scheduled their appointments back-to-back that they'd both need vaccinations.  So after they were done with their check-up the nurse came back in and asked who was going to go first.  At that point I knew either way it was going to be bad!  Neither one really remembered what it meant to get a shot so they weren't resistant and I decided to have Ada get her two first.  She's a tough cookie, she cried on the second stick.  When Ruby saw and heard Ada she immediately cowered into the corner declaring, "I don't want a shot, I'm not getting one, I'm not getting one, no, no, no."  It took some persuading, and bribery, but she bravely got her shot and we headed to Maggie Moos for an ice cream lunch!

They were proud of their battle wounds/band-aids, but have insisted they will never, never, not ever get a shot again!

  1. Grampa Bill can remember when he was a little shaver and was due a shot. The scene resembled a calf roping contest as I've been told! Ice cream makes everything better. See you soon my Princess warriors!
