I don't even know what to say about this summer... It's flown by and also feels like the longest summer of my life! We will be moving early/mid September so the girls won't start school until we get to Waco. While everyone else here is back in school mode our summer continues as we try to wrap our heads around this big move! We have been desperately trying to enjoy and soak in everything St. Louis which includes lots of sight-seeing type things (that's for another post) and spending lots of time with good friends.
We continue to take weekly trips to the library. Ruby had fun taking part in the summer reading program. Ada is taking after her big sister! We love books and adore our library! Hoping we can find a library half as amazing in Waco!
We finally got Ruby a big two-wheeler this summer. Mostly out of fear that she was going to get hurt flying down the hill on her balance bike without any brakes! She is fully capable of balancing herself but not quite confident to take off. In her defense it is quite a bit heavier than the balance bike and we haven't had a chance to take her to a large level area to practice.
Ada is proud as a peacock on the balance bike. I made her a new basket and streamers so she'd have something "new" too, but she was just thrilled to get the bike. I'm hoping she'll always be this excited to get hand-me-downs! She tells everyone, "Now I get to ride Ruby's bike!" And she's already lifting both feet off the ground as she scoots!
Hope your summer has been full of smiles too!
Love the smiles! Soak in St.Louis and all those wonderful people that have been such good friends and part of your lives!
ReplyDeleteaww, look at those big girls go! Tell Ruby not to ride her bike into the house like daddy did when he was little. I miss them too much. Wish we could teleport and have a day together.
