Halloween 2019

They were both super grumpy that day for some reason or another

Ruby wasn't even going to pick out a pumpkin, but we talked her into it.

We picked out pumpkins at the "pumpkin patch church", a local church that trucks in thousands of pumpkins each year.  After much deliberation, the girls decided on their designs.  Ruby carved her pumpkin herself for the first time this year and Ada only needed a little assistance- a milestone!

Misty supervised as usual whenever we are outside.  Love that cute kitty!

kitty-face pumpkin it is!

carved all by herself!

turned out pretty cute

We made storybook pumpkins again this year- Ruby's last year to do it!  This was the first year we didn't win any prizes, but they were fun.

I thought this one would be pretty easy and perfect because of Ruby's braces.  A few other people had the same idea!

Ada saw the deer pumpkin on Pinterest and found a book to go with it!

Ada was pretty set on her costume this year as she was obsessed iwtht he Descendants and asked for and got a Mal costume for her birthday.  Her BFF, Clara, was going to be Evie (also from the Descendants) so they could coordinate.  Ruby was a bit more undecided.  She tried to talk her friends, Levi and Wyatt (Clara's older brothers) into a coordinating costume, but only one of them was on board.  Ruby decided to go for it anyway and we put together a pretty great Luna (from Harry Potter) costume.  It was a pretty fantastic surprise then, when the Scheetz showed up to trick-or-treat with us dressed as Ron and Harry!

Sassy girls- Evie (Clara) and Mal (Ada)

Harry (Wyatt), Luna (Ruby), and Ron (Levi)

I love them so much!

It was a cold night, very cold for Waco standards, so we had to put on a few extra layers.  It actually froze over night and set a record low. We hooked up with some other friends who live a street over; Emory and Olivia have been in Ruby's class the last two years.  IT was a fun group!  We went along our street and a couple other loops and our buckets were full.

fun times!
