We're Baaaaack!

And, that's probably been the longest break between posts since I started this blog.  I can't really think of any specific reason, just life I guess!  I'll try to play catch up this week, but for now here are some snapshots.  If you follow me on Instagram you've probably seen most of these already.

Pretty proud of herself now that she can make scrambled eggs unassisted!

Oh my word, she looks huge in that picture.  She's going to leave us go to college any second.  Any second.  Sniff.

Ada discovered that Mom's jalapeno cheese (from TJ's of course) is quite delicious.  Mac and cheese is still her fav, but she likes spice!

Ruby came home with a Student of the Month certificate a few months back.

We aren't sure how big of a deal this is, but we are proud parents!  We always tell Ruby and Ada the most important thing is to show love.  We show love to our teachers by being a good listener and we show love to others by always being kind.  She's certainly not perfect but, from what we can gather, she is well-behaved at school and seems to have a lot of friends.  One of the best things I hear from other moms, is how much her child likes Ruby and always talks about Ruby!

Ada also does great at school.  Just six months ago she'd scream and cry every time I left her at home and dropping her off was a challenge.  But now she hugs me goodbye with a smile or just runs off happy as can be.  She is still Momma's girl but she is SO social; apparently she asks every parent at drop off/pick up if she can have a playdate with their child!  She has quite a group of friends at school whom she talks about all the time.  One day she came home asking if she could play "Bad Kitties" with Selah, Emma, and Ava... we later discovered that this game got banned at school.  Now they play "Good Kitties".  Oh my!

Ada takes after Ruby in their artistic ambitions and our playroom has basically become the art room.

Ada is really getting into drawing pictures and even writing words.  This one is "Jophes, Mary, and baby Jesus".

Ruby is still quite picky about what she'll wear (there are only a handful of shirts and leggings she keeps in steady rotation).

Stripes and stripes.  It's more about comfort than fashion.

She does have fun with some of the school dress up days though.

Ada is also Miss Independent when it comes to getting dressed.  She is all about the accessories.  Headbands, bracelets, rings and at least 6 hair clips are a must.  Yep, that dress is on backwards.  That's how she likes it.

We have a little reading machine on our hands.

Sometimes we can't even make it home from school to start reading a new library book.

Bear is still a total nut and will do anything for a laugh.
