Friends and fam from far away keep asking if we've been hit by bad weather this spring. We rarely watch the news so all I can say is that the storms must be elsewhere in Texas... it's a BIG state! ;) We have had (what feels like) a ton of rain though which brings out these little guys.
The non-rainy days have been amazing though. Highs in the 70's/80's and cooling off at night makes it so easy to get out and play.
And most nights after dinner we go for a bike ride or walk checking out our new neighborhood (which is beautiful!).
Ru got invited to a bday at Chuck E Cheese. Oh my! Here's praying our girls never ask to have their parties there!
This cutie pie continues to crack me up! I told the teachers that I didn't want spring school pictures, but Ada insisted on getting hers taken anyway- ha! Sorry, I had to take a picture of those they were too hilarious!
Her hair is obviously getting so long and I'm always trying to put it in a ponytail or something but Ada likes it down because she wants "it to be beautiful".
She also asked to paint her nails the other day and insisted on doing it herself. World's cutest pedi!
Both girls have been obsessed with bandaids lately. When I unpacked I found seven (SEVEN!) boxes of kid bandaids and they are almost all gone now. Bear Bear insisted on putting a bandaid on the fat lip she got when she got smacked in the face with a swing. I told her to give me a sad face!
It did look pretty bad, but even she couldn't keep a serious face with that thing on her lip.
Ruby is always coming up with grand plans and ideas. One of her latest was making a recipe. I was told, first you make dough, then you roll it into a ball and press chocolate chips into it. Next put it in the freezer for 5 minutes and then eat it! After a few days of talking about this recipe we had to make it. Yum!
Ruby's class put on a circus for all of the parents complete with hotdogs, cotton candy, and snow cones. There was a ringmaster, lion tamer and lions, tightrope walkers, strong man, and Ruby got to be a clown.

In other news, Momma got her hair chopped off (10 inches to donate). Ada said she didn't like it and Ruby asked how long until it was long again, so there's that.
We went to Flips (gymnastic place) again and Ada got brave enough to swing on the ring and drop into the foam pit. Over and over and over.
Fun side story: Two of my college roommates moved to San Antonio to do their student teaching and stayed there for about 8 (?) years. One of my roommates just sent me a message that their roommate while living in San Antonio, Natalie, was moving to Waco too. So we connected and met up at Flips with her little guy and we discovered that we live about a mile apart. How crazy is that? Natalie said she felt like she was talking to our old roommate after hanging out! It's super fun to have new friend with an old connection!
Such a nice post! You guys are really making a wonderful life in Texo! So nice to see all the smiling faces and goings on.
ReplyDeleteSheri - I want to say I like your hair and I bet you are happy to get rid of some of that volume in the warm weather (I do know how you feel). Thanks for posting - it is nice to 'stay in touch'
