Ada likes telling that to everyone we see!
We decided to sell Steve's Hyundai Elantra before we moved down to Waco last fall. We had plans to buy a van in the near future and figured it would be more of a hassle than it was worth to try to drive/tow two cars and the moving truck. It was a great car and still in pretty good shape but getting old. We knew as soon as we got here that we'd need a second car right away (the walkability of Waco/Woodway is pretty miserable) but weren't quite ready to get the van. So Steve bought a (cheap) car off of Craigslist to get to work and back while I continued to drive the Prius. Early this spring it was getting to the point where you'd have to say a quick prayer, cross your fingers and your toes, and then attempt to start Steve's car! It was time for us to get a van. He had been keeping an eye out, but wasn't seeing much available in Waco so we decided to take a quick weekend trip to Dallas in search of a (slightly) used minivan. We were able to find a bunch in our price range without high milage, drove a few and brought one home the next day. Plus the girls got to swim at the hotel and have sugar cereal with Texas-shaped waffles for breakfast so they thought it was a mini vacation!
(Everyone always comments on how blue Ruby's eyes are.)
I now drive this marshmallow, but I love it!
I know the thought of a minivan is just horrible for some people but I've always thought I'm proud of being a mom so why not be proud of driving a mom car?! It's a 2011 Honda Odyssey with low milage and in great shape. It was a leased vehicle and honestly looks like new inside and out. Ruby and Ada think the automatic doors are just the coolest thing ever. Ruby likes to say Ada got a van for her 3 1/2 year birthday present because we bought it on April 11th! Quite a gift for a half birthday!
I think our rides are more peaceful with one in the middle and one in the back (their choices) and I'm glad to have room to bring/drop off extra kiddos. Like I said on Instagram #justcallmesoccermom
Looks like the perfect vehicle. Ruby, you do have the bluest eyes. They look a little crunchy in the latest pic though! Happy 3 1/2 Bear Bear. Such a cool van. Enjoy!
