Backyard Fun

So this house we're renting has a huge backyard.  (Actually all of the houses in this area seem to have large front and back yards.)  The back is completely fenced in and has several trees.  I think the girls said they counted 10+.  When Steve and I came to look for a house back in August there was the playhouse, a swing set, and a small trampoline in the yard.  The owners planned to take the swing set and trampoline, so we just told the girls about the playhouse.  Much to our surprise, when we arrived all three were still in the yard.

We knew the swings and trampoline wouldn't be permanent so we told the girls they could enjoy it for now.  And they really did.

I couldn't believe how much time they spent playing out in the yard.  I'd say the swing set was the favorite, but they spent a lot of time jumping too. Backyard Fun from Steven Nelson on Vimeo.
We stayed out of the playhouse because there were wasps in it, but the girls were so busy they never asked about it.  The owners came and got the toys after two weeks.  I thought Ruby and Ada would be disappointed, but I think I was more sad about it!  Steve cleaned out the playhouse the same day and this week they've been having so much fun with it.

It came fully furnished with a kitchen set, table and chairs, baby crib and highchair, and even a piano!  Oh, yeah, and there's a loft too.

It's adorable.  We've tossed around the idea of a new swing set, but considering we are just renting and there is a park that is walkable, I'm sure we can have lots of fun with just the playhouse and our imagination for now!
