This was the first time Steve and I were both away from both girls. It was great! We drove up to Duluth on a beautiful sunny morning.
Our rental car turned out to be this cute little fiat! We both agreed it would be a fun car if we didn't have two kids and car seats.
Lunch at Grandma's with a perfect view of the bridge.
We rented this fun little coupe bike for two and rode up and down the lakewalk enjoying the scenery and the ships coming in and out.
Walked across the bridge and down the beach. COLD but pretty!

We stayed at the South Pier Inn which is on the other side of the lift bridge from Canal Park. Right. on. the. water. We'd highly recommend it! This is the view from our balcony.
Seriously, we were right on the water!
The next day we did a little shopping, ate more yummy food, and enjoyed the sights. We drove up to Enger Tower which has an amazing view of Duluth and Superior.
We then headed over to Wisconsin and did some hiking at Amnicon Falls State Park. Very pretty and very quiet.
The second night away we spent at my parents lake house in Turtle Lake. Bona Casa was top priority and you know we got extra for lunch the next day!!
