Over the past month or so we've had lots of fun baby showers, house warming parties, picnics, birthdays, playdates, and just plain old fun family time. (I'm going to go off on a tangent here for a second... Playdates. Is this a thing? I don't think I'd ever heard of this before moving to St. Louis. Maybe that was just because I didn't have kids? I don't think I ever had a playdate as a kid, did I? I mean I had friends over and played at friends houses, but "playdates"?! Okay, tangent done.)
We had an ice cream social at Ruby's preschool one evening with a Babaloo concert. It was a perfectly beautiful evening to be outside. (But, Ice cream+cookies+music silliness right before bed= up until 10= ugh.)
Can you tell how tired Ada is in this picture?!
Vera Froderman came to play one day with us. And, not to brag or anything, but I was pretty proud of myself for taking all 3 girls to the park and getting them all to nap at the same time! Vera napped in Ruby's bed and Ruby rested on the couch in the playroom downstairs. When I told her how proud I was that she stayed on the couch and rested quietly for the whole hour she said, "Well, I went down the slide about 5 times." Ha! She was quiet (honest) and mommy was undisturbed, so I'll call it a success anyway!
We went to Vera's 3rd birthday a few weeks ago and also got to meet her precious baby sister, Lily, this month. Congrats to Jason and Kat!
Our friends Evie and Remy came to visit one afternoon too. In a way having extra kids around made things easier- they keep my girls entertained!
We've enjoyed a couple meals on our patio, soaking up some pretty spring weather.
Why, yes, those are PB&J butterflies. Sometimes I'm a fun mom. Sometimes.
I guess we didn't explain to the girls that sledding isn't exactly a spring activity. That, or they got confused by the fact Gaga and Grandpa keep telling them it's snowing every time we talk! I think Ada enjoys it much better this way, not having to bundle up. The late spring snow is not helping convince us to move back north by the way.
Alison came to STL recently and we got to spend an evening with her. We went to Dewey's Pizza, an old fav.
SO good to see her. Hoping she'll bring the boys next time!
Ruby got to go to a "fancy" birthday party today for one of her classmates. There were fairy wings, tutus, glitter, a bounce house, and pony rides. Yep, a real horse and pony. Fancy.
There's been lots of bike riding happening lately.
Ada got her own helmet. She likes to "ride" the tricycle with the push bar.
Sorry, I seriously can't get enough of toddlers in helmets. Cutest. Thing. Ever.
We do a lot of park hopping too. Ruby always wants to check out "new" parks. I turned around and she was halfway up this thing. The picture is deceiving, it's tall, like way over my head.
I'm trying to encourage Ruby to ride the "big" swings and practice pumping.
I'm trying to encourage Ada's silliness too.
We finally attempted to fly the panda kite last weekend. Mom and Dad weren't so great at getting it up, but I love how you can see Ruby's enthusiasm in this picture if you look closely!
We're trying to spend lots of time outside before it gets too hot. Ada has to do whatever Big Sister is doing (note: sunglasses and bunny dolls).
Which usually means the girls need a bath at night.
As you can see, sometimes they need to be separated in the tub.
And, that's about all I can think of for now. I'm sure tomorrow I'll think of 20 more things I forgot to mention. Stay tuned.
Love the updates! The girls are getting so big and couldn't be any cuter. Thanks for the post!
