Ada is One and a Half

So...better late than never, right?!

 (I still haven't gotten around to taking Ada's picture in her rocking chair with her giraffe, but I figured this picture would do.  They let siblings get photos taken at Ruby's school when they did her school pics.  It's a picture of a picture, sorry for the poor quality.)

At 1 1/2, Ada weighs 23lbs and is 33in long.  She's had no less than six ear infections and countless viruses this winter.  In spite of that, Ada is a happy toddler.  Although we don't always understand her, she says a lot of words, usually loudly!  She's a climber, up on chairs, on the coffee table, on the toilet, up on the stool, on the dining room table, and has attempted to climb out of the crib.  Ruby is quite the role model, so Ada knows exactly how she could escape.  Dear Lord, I don't think I can handle two girls "on the loose" together in their bedroom.  Bedtime is a challenge with one of them contained.  Please keep Ada in her crib awhile longer.  Amen.  Ada likes books, but plays with any toy contentedly.  She likes to play with the play kitchen downstairs where she'll set the whole table and then offer us some of her dishes to sample.  Ada makes friends wherever we go, always saying "hi" to people at the grocery store, library, park, walking down the street.  She has mastered the stink eye, but sometimes can't stop smiling long enough to give it!  Ada is still our snuggle bug giving the best hugs and squeezes!
