It's a good thing we took this picture on Saturday.
Because someone didn't get to wear her Easter dress to church on Sunday because we were doing this.
"Wait, wait," you say? "Didn't you post that picture on Facebook and Instagram on Monday?" And to you I would say, "Nope, that was this picture."
See? Different. Monday was the day Ruby was throwing up and Ada had drainage coming out of her ear (which we later discovered was a double ear infection).
Monday was the day Ruby slept 13+ hours overnight AND took a 2 hour nap.
Oh yeah, it also did this last Monday. (Biggest snowstorm in STL since before we moved here- 12 1/2 inches.)
You see,
Sunday was the day it was 60 degrees and sunny, but Mommy and Ada spent it on the couch. Sunday was the day Ada was throwing up.
But Sunday was also the day we celebrated and remembered that this happened.
The girls' Jesus Storybook Bible says that because Jesus rose from the dead, one day everything sad will come untrue! That will humble you even when you've been dealing with yuck for months! (I stole that pic from our paster's FB page, don't know the original source.)
Thankfully we had lots of Easter fun on Saturday when everyone seemed to be feeling pretty good. We colored our eggs.
We also went to an Easter Egg Hunt at Ruby's friend Kaitlyn's house.
The girls had lots of
sugar fun!
Steve and Ruby went to church Sunday morning and then over to a friend's house for lunch. They had a good time. (However, afterward Ruby told me that she found some of Harper's eggs and ate all the fruit snacks in them. Oh, my! I guess I owe the Towl's an apology!)
While they were gone Ada and I snuggled on the couch with the windows open. She did perk up as the day went on.
We even got to get outside for a few minutes later in the day.
Ruby was anxious to try out her new panda kite!
I threw Ada's Easter dress on her and attempted a picture, but this was the best I could get (yes those are her pj pants under her dress!)
We heard a really good song last weekend at a memorial service we attended. It was called blessings and went something like, "what if all of our struggles are really God's blessings in disguise." I am SO sick of being sick, but trying to keep this perspective and not get frustrated.
Happy Easter! Hope your day was healthy and happy. But mostly I hope you felt God's biggest blessing for us today- His risen Son!
Yeah, you guys have sure had your share of sickness. Lots of cute pictures despite all that though.
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter to all of you. I hope you can get a string of healthy days going! My goodness what a pile of snow for St. Louis. Beautiful post. Love you all lots and lots!
