Fall Traditions

We have been thoroughly enjoying our warm fall and checking off items from our fall bucket list.

Play in the leaves. Check.  Apple orchard.  Check.  Pumpkin patch.  Check.  Carve pumpkins.  Check.  Roast seeds.  Check.

We hit up Theis Farm Pumpkinland again this year.  It's a fun little farm/orchard/pumpkin patch for us city folk!  It was a pretty fall day (not the HOT afternoon we spent there last year just a few days before Ada was born) and the girls had lots of fun.

(That slide was much bigger and faster than it looks in this picture.  Our big girl marched right up by herself again and again!)

They did lots of climbing and playing.

Ada tried to keep up with her big sissy.

I love this picture of Ada looking at the animals, she gets SOOOO excited!

Ruby was so brave, going on all the "big kid" rides this year.  This was a serious zip line!

We took a little tractor ride around the farm and then went to pick out a couple pumpkins to take home.

I had visions of cute pictures of both girls sitting in the pile of pumpkins, but realized that getting a decent picture of them both together is currently impossible.  (Check the picassa album for just a *few of our outtakes!)  So we'll have to settle for an okay pic of each of them separately!

Ruby was very anxious to "make a face" on her pumpkin.

Ada wasn't sure about touching the "guts" at first,

but by the time we finished her toes were in it!

(Are we the only ones who strip our kids down before carving pumpkins?!)

Ruby requested a silly face and a kitty.

And we had to light them up right away, of course!

We're now counting down the days to Halloween.  Ruby keeps saying "Tomorrow's trick or treat!"

  1. So SWEET! Thank you for sharing pictures of Ruby & Ada enjoying Fall activities. They couldn't be cuter or loved more. Love you all.
