About a month ago our friends, Tim and Kristin, called and asked if we wanted some apples. Their apple tree was plentiful this year so they shared "a box" with us.
So excited about all those apples!
I was hoping to make and freeze some applesauce, but we gobbled up a triple batch in about a week (maybe less!). So three pies, lots of snacks, and a triple batch of applesauce later, we were out of apples.
We really didn't think we'd be going to the apple orchard this fall, but last weekend was the perfect opportunity when Bill and Nancy were here.
It was a beautiful day. We enjoyed the animals, play area, and even the carnival rides (?!) before taking a hayride to pick some apples.
Ready to ride!
I think it was this point when I remembered I don't really like ferris wheels. Why didn't I let someone else ride with Ruby?
Ada wanted to do everything Ruby was doing!
Ruby was big enough to pick apples this year. I'm pretty sure she filled up a whole bag herself!
Ada couldn't get enough!
We love this fall family tradition!
(Thought we had a pic of all four of us...)
We did a little "birthday celebrating" too of course!
I'm
supposed to tear this paper?!
Steve and Bill got to enjoy a Cardinals game during their visit too!
Thanks for visiting us!
Thanks for all the great memories! We had a wonderful time. Ruby and Ada thank you for the beautiful picture that you painted for us. The tree made of little hands and leaves of tiny fingers is just precious!
