On my way home from work everyday, I find myself saying "The Little Ruby" at least a few times, especially as I get closer to home. Sometimes Dad (that's me) misses her. How would you feel if you had to leave this face in the morning?
Sheri and I have learned a lot over the past couple weeks. First, we are unspeakably happy and in love with Ruby. Second, taking care of an infant is not for the faint of heart. When people say you learn to live in sort of a hazy state as far as mental capacity is concerned, they aren't kidding.
Lately, Dad and Ruby have been doing baby photo shoots when we lay her on the blanket in the living room. Here are some highlights.
Ruby has also taken part in some recent adventures around the house including
Sitting in her bouncy seat
Sitting on her boppy
Swinging in her swing
and even taking Dad's spot in the bed
Samantha came down this weekend and has been visiting Ruby and helping us out a lot around the house. I think it's safe to say Ruby likes her Auntie Sam.
Last, but not least, Montego has decided to step up his game as far as getting attention goes. The following pictures are examples of his efforts. Note Ruby's bow in his bowl.
Thank you, Thank you for the new post and pictures! Your blog is my lifeline to Ruby. She is changing a lot but still so precious and adorable. She looks a little unsure about some of the new 'equipment'. :) I believe Monte was claiming Sheri as his for a little while there.
ReplyDeleteThanks again - you all make me smile.
What are Monte's statistics vs. Ruby's? Length, weight......
ReplyDeleteI think he has her beat!
Thanks for the updates. We really appreciate the pics and comments. I find myself saying "Ruby Jean, my little Ruby Jean", when I'm thinking about her during the day and when I go to bed at night. She really is a gift from heaven and we look forward to holding her SOON!! She is lucky to have the loving parents like you two. Montego is claiming some rank by putting her bow in his bowl. Looks like he is claiming Sheri too!
ReplyDeleteSteve and Sheri,
ReplyDeleteWhat precious pictures - thanks for posting them. As far as your question about leaving her each morning - I couldn't do it and that is why I stayed home. I know it just killed Jim to go to work but some how you manage.
Auntie Mary
Ha! Monte definitely has Ruby beat- he's a giant tiger!
ReplyDeleteBeatiful pictures. That is the first proud Daddy I know of that takes a camera to the grocery store. She's an adorable little girl, that's for sure, and we love all the pics. GGPA saw the beatiful blue eyes that enhances her loveliness.Love all three of you GGMA&GGPA
