Anyhoo, I decided I wanted to do something to appreciate the moment and, since I couldn't think of anything more creative, I thought I'd post a picture on Instagram for 40 days leading up to my 40th birthday. I used the hashtags #40daysto40 and #40daysofhappy.
Here's what I posted (in random order):
Dad, the public library (and the fact that my receipt tells me how much I've saved), our garden, Texas?!, my Chacos (or any sandals), friends who invite you over, going out to dinners Fridays and lunch Sundays (especially when there's outdoor seating and places for kids to run), and our Sweet Little Miss Sunshine.
Theatre, sleeping in in the summer, local food/festivals/friends, back to school shopping, Mom, real cane sugar Dr Pepper, outdoor patio lights, TJ's chai tea, yoga
Evening walks, blogging, Schitt$ Creek, Amazon Prime (I know, I know, but Jeff Bezos is sooooo good to me), movies, our church, my job, calendars, cardigans
After school pick-ups and unscheduled outdoor time, decorating, our new house, sweet neighborhood kitties, weekly women's group, Sam and Logan, dark chocolate
Ice cream and family time, Ruby Roo and her new glasses, Ada Bear and her sass, my best friend Steve and rare date nights, my life!

Loved the 40 days of Instagram posts. And I've loved having you in my life for every one of your 40 years.
