End of Summer

After we got back from Minnesconsin, we had about 3 weeks before school started for us all.

We actually stayed inside as much as possible because it was about 100 degrees the whole month.  We spent a day at the Mayborn Museum when I discovered you can check out free passes from the public library!  We read lots of good books, had a few playdates, did some school shopping, and even found a fun little beach one afternoon.  Ruby and Ada also did a gymnastics camp.

Free museum pass!

All-time fav pic!  A poster size print has been ordered!

The sweet neighbor girl who has started babysitting once in awhile, put on a Kids Camp with her friend one morning.  Ruby and Ada had a blast!

We love Kids Camp with Courtney!

Steve and I snuck out one evening for a date night to celebrate our 14th anniversary. (I may have just typed 13th by accident.  Math.)  We went to the Waco 52 pop-up gallery and then stopped in a cute little candy shop downtown.  We discovered a whole room in the back full of individual specialty bottles of pop.  We were looking at the rows of root beer and I said, "Think they have Fitz's?" when Steve spotted it.  We were pretty shocked, since we walked to the Fitz's bottling company many a time when we lived in St. Louis.  Their root beer is so good.  My dad was known to take a case home every time they would visit and I'm pretty sure they even used it to make root beer floats at Sam's graduation party.  We kept looking around and I may have shrieked a bit when I saw a bottle of Hip Hop Pop, our favorite Fitz's.  Of course we both had to buy a bottle, but then we were too excited to even drink it for a few days!
After that excitement, we had dinner at Alpha and Omega, a new(ish) greek restaurant that is delicious.  Next we headed Heritage Creamery for dessert and then to a show at the Waco Civic Theatre.  We like food.  Super fun night!
