Well, how the heck did that happen?! Sweet little bear was SOOOOOOO excited to start school. She asked me all summer when we were going to go buy her school supplies. She picked out an adorable flamingo backpack and we found the perfect dress to match for her first day.
Ada was anxious and excited to find out who her teacher would be and, even though she didn't know her, she was happy to have Mrs Mosley. We brought all of our school supplies up to school at Meet the Teacher. It is a super busy night and I always leave overwhelmed, but both girls left ready to start the first day. I think it always helps to actually meet your teacher, see the classroom, and find out who else is in your classroom. I was nervous because, although we know several other Kindergarteners, Ada didn't know a soul in her class.
Presents for our new teachers!

Ada asked to take a picture with Mrs Mosley!
The Sunday before school started they did a Kindergarten commissioning at UBC, our church. There were just two kids on stage two years ago when Ruby was commissioned. As you can see, our church is growing!
Ada is behind the boys on the left, you can see her face looking up at Pastor Taylor
Ruby and Ada were both up and ready to go the first day! We got to walk up the red carpet and snap some pictures of our superhero on the way inside. Our school lets parents walk Kindergarteners to class the first day so we hugged Ruby and sent her on down the hall and took Ada in to get settled. As I was giving her hugs she teared up so I reminded her that everyone gets a little nervous on the first day. She looked at me and said, "I'm not a little nervous, I'm a lot nervous!" Mrs Mosley came over and gave her a teddy bear to snuggle as I scooted out. I knew she'd do great, but it's always hard to leave a sad kiddo.
They're ready!

I am teaching Monday and Wednesday afternoons this semester so Caroline got to pick them up on the first day. I raced home after class and both girls were so excited to tell me all about their first day. It sounded like everything was great...right up until bedtime when Ada started crying and telling me she wasn't going back. She had a rough morning the second morning, but Steve said by the time they got (the five blocks) to school she was fine. I'm pretty sure she was just exhausted by it all, because she's really been happy about everything she gets to do and tells us all about the friends she is making. Ada has always been Momma's Girl and always has a hard time saying goodbye. She sure looks so grown up to me now!
LOVE our cute Kindergartener!!!

Ada! School is cool! You look soooo grown-up! Enjoy your school days , they go by so fast!
