Here's the Scoop- Our Baby is 4!

From Fall 2015
It doesn't seem possible that our little Bear is already 4 but she is proud of it!  The first thing she said as she crawled into bed with us her birthday morning was, "Am I already 4?"  As Ruby said a few weeks back, "It's a good thing we have Ada.  It wouldn't be the same without her!"  We love our funny, smart, sweet 4 year old!

Ada was spoiled as always!  It's hard to be too far from family to celebrate with them, but it's always exciting to see packages arrive the week leading up to a birthday!

After Ruby's party Ada had high expectations for her own special day.  Since her birthday was on a Sunday we got to celebrate on her actual special day.  I was planning a low-key get together with a few family friends but then she asked to invite some friends from preschool and church too.  Since the plan was just to have ice cream and hang out I figured it wasn't any trouble to invite a few more friends.   I started panicking a bit when I realized it was going to be 97 degrees so I planned a few activities to keep the kids busy inside!  It was a bit crazy, but lots of fun!  Great Grandpa Clete and Carol happened to be driving through Waco that day so they stopped for a little bit too!

Highlights included decorating balloons to make ice cream cones,

playing "ice cream walk" game with ice cream cone tattoos, parachute, super cute ice cream cone lollipops for favors, and the make-your-own ice cream sundaes, of course!

You know that bowl had EVERY topping possible.  Yum!

Ada at Four:
Stats:  Ada weighs 37 lbs and is 40'' tall.  Dr. McDonald confirmed what Steve and I both suspected; she's a true lefty, even though she insists she's not.  Both girls knew they had to get the flu mist at their appointments which they were fine with but we found out that Ada also needed a couple immunizations.  She wasn't thrilled but did great!  The schedule here is  much different than our old clinic but now both girls are done until they turn 11.
Eat:  Ada's eating habits are about the same as last year... she would live off of carbs.  She does like fruit and will eat some veggies, but fills up on mac-n-cheese any chance she gets!  Candy is pretty much her favorite thing ever!
Sleep:  Ada bear does pretty well with sleep these days.  She dropped her nap early this summer which has made bedtime much easier.  I think she usually falls asleep in a matter of minutes.  Bedtime is 7:30/8:00 and she wakes up 7:00 or 7:30.  She still sleeps in the toddler bed because there's really no reason to switch and she still uses the same lovies she had as a baby.  We've gone through about 12 over the years!
Potty: Ada potty trained without too much difficulty last fall.  However it took her until just recently to convince her to use the potty for #2.  I think I can safely say we are only in pull-ups at night now.
Play:  Ada loves to play with her big sister and can most often be convinced to do whatever Ruby wants her to do!  She is an art lover like her sister and has started drawing some pretty impressive pictures and writing lots of letters too.  She knows all of the letters and most of the letter sounds.  She likes beads, stickers, and cutting and glueing.
Sayings:  One of my favorite things Ada says is "backer", you know, the opposite of closer.  "Move backer Mommy."  She also thinks 8 is a huge number.  Another favorite is "I can't very do it".
Hair: As Ada will tell you, it touches her booty!  And it's full of curls, however I'm pretty sure once it's cut the curls will be gone.  So it will NEVER be cut.  The end.
Personality:  Ada is a mommy's girl through and through.  She is sweet as pie, happy, and pretty easy-going.  She LOVES snuggles and always wants another hug!  Ninety-five percent of the time she is wearing a dress and several accessories.  Ada will do almost anything if it involves a treat or candy reward!
