I may have mentioned that we were told our new house is on the parade route for the Woodway 4th of July parade. The girls were counting down the days until the "July parade". We didn't know what to expect but thought it would be a good excuse to invite some of our new friends over for brunch/parade watching/backyard fun.
The parade consisted of 4 fire trucks and 300 kids on bikes/scooters/wagons and our crew was excited about collecting candy.
After the parade we hung out in our shady backed with water balloons, a slip-n-slide, food, and yummy sangria.
I think we had 5 or 6 families and 14 kids and loads of fun! Maybe it will become a yearly tradition.
We decided the girls were probably ready for fireworks for the first time this year. We followed the crowds downtown and found a grassy field on the Baylor campus. RJ was tired and Bear kept her headphones on to defuse the noise, but they enjoyed the show.
Fun, fun, fun! Fourth of July fireworks and a parade and family. Life is good!
