So crazy how fast this school year went! The girls started preschool about 3 weeks late because of our move, but I still can't believe how much they change in 8 short months.
I'm not sure how much Ada understands that "the school year is done" but I do know she is going to miss her friends and, especially Miss Jessica! Luckily we go to the same church, live close, and have become friends with her family so hopefully she can get her "Jess fix"once in awhile still!
Ruby's class had the sweetest Graduation program last week. The mini caps and gowns were adorable, no?!
They took that picture the week before and gave it to us as a gift thankfully. Ru isn't fond of Mom taking her pictures and I think she gets a little overwhelmed at these big events so our photos after the ceremony aren't the greatest!
Obviously there was a haircut in between as well. There was lots of hair drama. I made a HUGE mistake of taking her to one of those kiddie places and they completely butchered her hair. Not the chin-length bob I was going for and, although we told her she looked great, Ruby was NOT happy with it either. I ended up taking her to my hair lady a day later to fix it up. Yeah, drama! It looks MUCH better now, though we will all be happy when it grows a bit longer in the back. Poor girl! I've had lots of bad hair in my life, but pretty sure this was the first time I had tears over a bad haircut. So much worse when it's your baby!
Anyhoo, back to Graduation... The graduates marched in to Pomp and Circumstance, sang a few songs, and received their diplomas. Ruby had such a sweet class and only one of them will be going to the same school as her in the fall. We will miss our friends, but hopefully can keep in touch with playdates. Her teachers and school were amazing and we are so grateful for all they did.
So serious, but cracked a smile as she walked past Daddy!
Columbus Avenue Baptist PreK Class of 2015
I did try to record most of the ceremony for the grands. It's long, not the most thrilling, and horrible quality. One camera battery died mid-ceremony so I had to switch to my phone. You've been warned!

About a month earlier Ruby had Kindergarten Round-up at Woodway Elementary, her new school! It was basically just registration for the parents and they did a quick screening with the kids in the library. She is so ready!
We couldn't be prouder of our little graduate and so excited for Kindergarten!
Ruby, such a wonderful graduation! You did a beautiful job and we are so proud of you. Love you lots and lots!
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the pics and the video! Congrats, Ruby! We're proud of you too. Class of 2028?!...
