Howdy from Texas, Y'all!
That pic is from the weekend my parents came to visit/help when Steve had a conference in DC. That was a month ago! We have some catching up to do. Again!
Ada and I joined Ruby and her class the week they went on a field trip to the zoo about a month ago.
Steve now has all of the federal holidays off (like the all important Columbus Day), so we went downtown Waco for the Veteran's Day Parade on his day off.
The girls got 5 times the candy that they got on Halloween. I'm not even exaggerating. We left piles of it in the street and we still have a gallon size bag full almost a month later. I've never seen people throw so much candy at a parade before. There were full sized candy bars! So now my girls know what Veteran's Day is all about. Or they don't.
It was chilly that week which is the week my parents came down. They escaped some very cold temps in Wisconsin, but we mostly had to find things to do indoors. We went to the Mayborne Museum, which is a children's/history/science museum on Baylor's campus.
Grandpa Steve loves checking out new and different places to eat and we went to Vitek's BBQ when they were here. It was so yummy. Grandpa got the "Gut Pack", which doesn't really sound that good, but they are famous for it- a box filled with corn chips, bbq beef, cheese, pickles, sausage, bread, and jalapeƱos. He said it was pretty good. A bunch of college guys sat down next to us as we were eating and proceeded to shake up their "Gut Packs" before eating- next time we'll know how to eat it properly! Ruby is still talking about how good the brisket was so we need to go back soon and take Steve.
The high temps lately have been in the 60's with a 70-80 degree thrown in from time to time. It cools down at night so the mornings are chilly but we can spend lots of time outside, riding bikes, playing in the backyard, or at the park.
Beautiful pics, so nice to see those Texas cuties!
