January

So January's pretty much over.  Not sure how that happened or what we've been doing this month.  Steve had two more trips

and I'm pretty sure we've been home and inside a lot.

It's been pretty cold, but typical to St. Louis we've had our ups and downs, so there's been a 50 or 60 degree thrown in every once in awhile too.  We always try to get out as much as possible when the weather is fairly decent and we took several visits to the zoo.  We had lots of tickets for the train and children's zoo that had to be used up by the end of the month so we took advantage of any warm(ish) days.  Seems like the animals have been more active than ever the last couple times.  We even saw/heard the male lion stand up on a big rock and let out several loud "roars" one afternoon which was really cool.

(Parenting tip of the day: Don't wear white tights to the zoo. As you can see from the pictures I let that happen not once, but two separate occasions.  Just don't.)

There's also been lots of coloring/drawing.

Can you figure out who is who in the portraits?

This is how I found Ruby one day after rest; asleep under the blanket with her face in a coloring book and marker in hand.  Such an artist!

MomThe girls enjoyed a Daddy Day at the science museum.

And, of course, there was the yearly ice slide at the Loop Ice Festival.
