Ruby, Ada, and I spent an unexpected, long weekend in Wisconsin for Grandma Jane's funeral. It was certainly a sad occasion. It was also precious time to spend with family.
Getting there was a wild ride. A two and a half hour delay when you are by yourself in the airport with a one year old and a three year old can cause a panic attack, but we survived. I found a corner and plopped the girls down with some paper and stickers. Ruby peels off a sticker, looks at me and says, "Maybe this will keep us busy for awhile!" I hope girlfriend. I hope. We did finally make it on the plane, got our juice and pretzels and landed in MSP.
All of my Grandma Jane's grandkids and great grandkids were together but we, sadly, didn't get any photos. :( We did remember to take a Licht family photo (minus Steve).
As you can see, Ruby was keeping it real. She said she gave the stink eye because she got interrupted and wanted to eat her cookie. It was so good to have a chance to see Sam (and her friend Logan), visit the lakehouse (my sister especially loves the wood paneling), and just be together. Ruby was excited to see the snowmobile Grandpa had been telling her about.
The girls also had a blast playing with cousins Nolan and Annika, wish we all lived closer.
Pretty sure they're holding hands!
Only four days after getting back home, Gaga and Grandpa flew to STL to visit us! (Did I mention that Ada's ear started draining again in-between these visits?!) Steve had a conference to go to in San Fransisco, so they had planned to be with us and help out while Daddy was gone. It was a beautiful weekend and I'm pretty sure they were happy to enjoy the sun and warmth, knowing it was snowing again back home! We were sure happy they were here (Mommy even got to go to a baby shower and a happy hour one night while Gaga and Grandpa babysat!).
We went to Grant's Farm one day. It was a l.o.n.g. wait to get in, but a perfect day to spend outside!
Ruby insisted on the leggings under her pants.
A shared ice cream cone and the day was complete!
Hope we get to spend some time with the Nelson family soon. They're growing by one this week- Baby Petunia is set to arrive Monday!
All the happy faces! Makes me smile too!
