With the arrival of Ada Lynn, Ruby is proud to announce she is now a Big Sister!
Ada joined our family at 1:45am on Tuesday, October 11th. She was a whopping 8lbs7oz (yay, we don't know how she was that big either!) and 21 inches long. Two inches longer and almost 2 pounds bigger than Ruby was.
At about 1:00am on Monday morning I woke Steve up to let him know I was having contractions. They were fairly mild and about 10 minutes apart so we thought we'd try to rest some more and hopefully get Ruby up and ready for Kerry's house before heading into the hospital. After about 45 minutes of contractions coming 5 minutes apart, I got up at 6:00am to start getting ready...and the contractions slowed way down. This went on most of the day. We went for a long walk around the neighborhood timing contractions 3 minutes apart but as soon as we got home and I sat down to call the doctor they slowed to 10 minutes apart. Not knowing how long this would go on, we took Ruby to Kerry's and Steve went to work while I tried to rest, walk, cook...and not get frustrated! Monday evening we had a fun dinner with Kerry, Maddie, and Taylor and then said "Goodnight" to Ruby as she stayed for another sleepover. We were both very glad we decided to leave Ruby there overnight because things really started picking up around 7pm and we headed to the hospital at 9:30pm on Monday. The labor at the hospital was very different from Ruby's, but truely amazing. At 1:45am, with Steve and I straining to get a look, we heard, "It's a girl!"
Ruby was Ada's first visitor on Tuesday morning and could not stop hugging and kissing her baby sister! Gaga Donna and Gramfa Steve arrived that evening.
In the same outfit, car seat, and blanket as Ruby, we brought Ada home on Wednesday afternoon. Can you tell who is who?
We are so in love and have been enjoying Ada's snuggles, funny faces, and poses!
Welcome Ada! We love looking at all the pictures. Thanks for sharing!
