(I'm certain that much of the following info is mainly only important to me, but I'm posting so that someday when I forget all of these things I can look back here!)
It recently occurred to me that, with all of the birthday photos, we forgot to post Ruby's one-year stats! She had her doctor's appointment just a couple days after her birthday. She weighed in at
19lbs 4oz and 30in long and she's wearing 12-18mo clothes. Ruby now has
6 teeth, 2 on bottom and 4 on top. We "watched" as the first 4 broke through, but had no idea 2 more popped through on top! We felt a bit like neglectful parents when we saw them one afternoon. I guess the fact that we didn't notice her teething is a good thing. She really is a happy, easy-going babe! I've been trying to count and keep track of all of the new words Ruby is saying, but I can't keep up any longer! Some of her favorites are: "ball" "meow" "milk" "Tay-Tay" (Taylor) "Mah-Mah" (Maddie) "car" "pu-pu" (up-up) "down" "may-men" (amen) "heego" (here ya go) "chee-o" (cheerios) "cup" "pear" "beep" (when driving her scooter) "gourd" "uh-oh" "done" "p.u." (while waving her hand in front of her nose) "door" "more" "pee" (please) "bear" "woof" "hoo-hoo" "moo" "bock-bock" "book" "ma-ma" "da-da" "pa" (grandpa) "aye-aye-aye" and, of course, "hi" and "bye-bye". She is walking and running all over the place all of the time which has led to many bumps and bruises. It seems like as soon as one boo-boo fades she replaces it with one that's worse- ugh! Ruby has a kitty costume for Halloween and Steve has been joking that she's going to be an alley cat because she has a shiner right now!

Great Grandpa Clete and Carol stopped for a visit on their way through St. Louis a couple weeks ago.
Steve was just telling me that he thought Ruby was starting to resemble him more, when I saw her do this, I couldn't disagree!
