It's official, Steve has his phD! He did a fabulous job presenting his thesis work on Tuesday to an audience of about 60 scientists, doctors, family, and friends. After an hour long talk, Steve had a closed session with his commitee. We waited anxiously in his lab until his mentor/P.I. strolled in a causually said, "He's Dr. Nelson." After cake and champagne (sparkling pomagrante juice for me and baby) the celebration began!
Steve banned me from taking pictures during his actual talk so here are some before and after shots!

Hooray!! Congrats Dr Nelson! We are so happy and excited and proud. The pictures are wonderful and really give an idea of how the day went -the next best thing to being there. We were thinking of and praying for you all day and, of course, wishing we were there. Looks like you had a wonderful celebration to cap off your long, hard path to becoming a PhD. You did it!
