We went to the Saint Louis Art Fair last night amidst many a well-to-do St. Louisan smoking fancy cigars and wearing those loafers that must cost hundreds of dollars to be able to wear without socks and have your feet smell clean in the morning. If I had a dime for every person who looked at Sheri's belly and then looked at us with a little smile hoping we might smile back, I might have been able to buy one of the paintings there. They hoped we would look back at them and recognize their smile was wishing us well, but I (and I think Sheri) were just trying to ignore them. We know we're pregnant and we know our lives are going to change forever and we know it could be any day now. If you weren't sure of this, now you know. Seriously though, we are excited that it could be any day now and have been doing some last minute preparations to get "ready". Yeah, that's "ready" in quotes, because one other thing one or two people have told us is "You're never ready". Thanks everyone for all of the encouragement along the way.
Sheri has been doing pretty well given the circumstances though she has been getting much more tired lately. I'm very proud of how strong she has been and I know she will do well when Junior (that's what I call the baby) is ready to get out.
Maybe the next post will be the birth announcement. I suppose it will be if we are lazy enough to not post again for awhile. We'll try and put up a couple pictures before then though.
For those that are interested in the juicy details: As of last Wed (Sept 9) I was 1 1/2 cm and 30%. We'll see if there's anymore progress this Wed, although it doesn't see like it means too much. As my doctor said, "Could be tonight, could be 3 weeks!"
ReplyDeleteYes, pictures are always nice. Pics of Sheri looking so lovely, pics of Monte wondering when the baby is coming, pics of dad doing the housework or cooking. I think you are very prepared and you will slide into this new role just fine. Jenny called Saturday night at 10:30 (which we all know is past our bedtime) and dad thought, oh maybe it's the baby. Nope, Jen wanted him to turn on animal planet and see the baby beavers!!!
ReplyDeleteNeedless to say, we get anxious each time the phone rings and are looking forward to the new arrival. Sheri, you get as much rest as you can and enjoy yourself as much as you can. Just relax!
Love
Nancy
I'm all for some new pictures too. Sheri says she is growing out of all of her clothes and I want to see that....
