Halloween 2018

Eek, it's almost Christmas and I'm posting our Halloween pictures!

We went to a Texas "pumpkin patch" one weekend while my mom was here and carved our pumpkins a few days before Halloween.  They just scatter trucked-in pumpkins around a large field.

Corn bin was fun and crowded.

Little Miss Sunshine was more excited about the swings than the pumpkins.

It took all three adults to manage three children.

Ruby and Ada wanted to participate in the Storybook Pumpkin contest again.  Last year I vowed to make our pumpkin early as we waited until the last minute last year and Narwhal and Jelly were still drying when we delivered them to the library.  However, with the craziness of adding number 5 to the fam, it was a last minute activity again.  And we came up with the simplest idea possible.

Hahaha!  It IS one of our favorite books! And they got 2nd place!

We got a huge bag of old dress up clothes earlier this spring from our neighbor whose daughter is grown and out of the house.  Ruby and Ada had so much fun trying everything on.  Ada put on one of the outfits with a top hat and declared "I'm the greatest showman!"  It was perfect so we had her Halloween costume planned for months.  Of course as October approached she decided she wasn't going to be the Greatest Showman because she didn't want to be a boy.  I found some cute pics of girl ringmasters and we talked her into it anyway!  Ruby decided to be Ann from the movie which was simple with a purple leotard and pink wig.

This is the greatest show!

Obviously, S joined our family a couple weeks before Halloween so we had to come up with a quick costume for her too.  Ruby was pretty disgusted that her costume didn't coordinate, but S was pretty decisive about being a butterfly fairy princess!

Very pink and very happy!
