End of the School Year

The last month of school has to be brutal for working parents.  I am usually done a few weeks before the girls are out and I seem to find myself up at their school more days than not for programs, conferences, volunteering, and other shenanigans.  Since everything is bigger in Texas we go all out celebrating the end of the school year (insert rolling eyes emoji here).  There is GT showcase, field day, Disney day, water day, roof day, graduation, extreme day, super day, super-duper day... and I only made up two of those days.

Steve and I both got to pop in for Ruby's GT showcase where she showed us all of the cool things she learned and projects she created this semester about the rainforest.

Second grade field day is pretty typical, relays, tug-of-war, etc

What is atypical is the giant indoor football practice field at our high school

Tug-of-war champs!!!  Ruby's class had some super sweet friends this year and they will likely be together again because her teacher is looping!

Kindergarten has Disney field day, whatever that may be

Disney field day fell on the Friday before the royal wedding so it was also Princess Day (because obviously we celebrate that!) hence the fancy dresses

Ada made some sweet friends this year too, she had 3 bestie all year

Lela, Bryce, and Charlee became one name as in "Who did you play with today?" "LelaBryceNCharlee"

On Roof/Water Day some of the teachers stand on the roof of the school and spray you with water.  I don't get it either.

You get wet on Roof Day and you get snow cones.  With LelaBryceNCharlee.

Last day of 2nd and Kinder

Saying goodbye was hard, but super happy we will (likely) have Mrs Abarca in 3rd grade too.   Also, Ruby is one of the shortest kids in her class to give you an idea of how tall her teacher is!

School's out, time for slushies

and slip-n-slides

The end of the school year also meant saying goodbye to our sweet, sweet Caroline!  She has been the best babysitter the past three years.

She will be missed but we are excited for her to begin new adventures!
