Keepin' Cool

We had a low-key week(ish) between our trip to the beach and MSP.  We tried to stay as cool as possible while looking forward to cooler temps up north.

Sometimes I can even read a book while they play!

rambutan

horned fruit

dragon fruit

Sadly, we can't really say we'd recommend any of the three.  But they sure are pretty and it was fun to try them.

Funny story; we were swimming at the Baylor pool and Ada got scared to go down the slide.  She had done it before but she kept climbing up to the top and then chickening out.  I was getting tired of going up and down the steps so I told her we could stop for snow cones if she just went down the slide.  Girl marched right up, Ruby told her "think about Mr. Snow" and down she went.  Pretty sure you could convince her to do anything with the promise of sugar.

Cute little snow cone shop (they are plentiful in Waco) and best ones I've had!

More indoor activities; making slime with friends.
Kept them busy for a long time

I was asked to help out at the Sumer Literacy Institute at Baylor the two days before we left.  They were looooong days (had to be there before 7am and there were dinners both nights) but I loved being able to listen and learn from these literacy gurus while helping out.

We had some fun visitors the morning before we flew out.  Steve's cousin, Emily, and her family, Jamie, Liliana, and Lucus stopped for a quick visit.  They were doing an epic summer road trip visiting family in the southwest and in Houston.  We're thankful they popped in on their way back up I35!
Cousins (ish)

Next up: quick pack and out the door to DFW to catch our flight!
