She told me the lady wouldn't let her smile with her mouth shut (thank you picture lady!). She thinks she looks weird without her front teeth. (Foreshadowing people! But that's a post for another time.)
Ada's pictures were scheduled early November. I had this on my calendar and the note on my desk. But I still forgot. To be fair it was a few days after the election and Steve was out of town at the time; because of those two things I was a bit of a mess. I didn't remember until that evening when Ada started telling me all about how she posed for pictures. This is what she looked like when she told me.
Now, I would have let her choose what to wear, but I would have made sure she chose something that matched. And was the right size. And I would have done her hair. Thankfully they did retakes for me which turned out pretty cute.
And I was able to laugh at the first round.
Mom of the Year folks!
The main reason I don't care too much about the school pics is that I always like to get professional pictures taken in the fall anyway. It is perfect timing as they both just celebrated birthdays and I get to use the pictures for Christmas cards. Our friend Laura did our photos again this year, and did an amazing job of making us look pretty even when we were feeling anything but! The outtakes were pretty spectacular but we had several that I loved as well.
My mom has really wanted a big family photo so we took the opportunity of all being together in Omaha for Thanksgiving to have those taken too. They turned out cute and I love the fall colors (our trees are just starting to turn now here in Waco).
2016 hasn't been our favorite year, but it sure was well documented!

Love the pics and ALL the wonderful people in them! You write so well, Sheri! Love the story behind the pics!
