Halloween 2016

We did some family pumpkin carving the weekend before Halloween.  This consists of Ruby spending forever trying to figure out what kind of face to carve, Ada copying Ruby's idea, and Steve and I doing all of the work!

We partook in the pumpkin storybook character contest at Ruby's school this year (it was a family effort).  Her Charlotte and Wilbur won a prize!

Both girls had very specific ideas for costumes this year.  Ruby wanted to be a monarch butterfly and Ada wanted to be a unicorn, but it had to be exactly like the picture I showed her!  Ruby's costume was easy-peasy and Ada's wasn't too bad either.  Steve and I decided these were our favorite costumes this far!

Opps!  That's not a picture of girls in costume. That's how they dress themselves for a normal day!

Ada class was able to wear their costumes to preschool on Monday, but she decided to be a peacock instead!  Luckily, she chose the unicorn costume for trick-or-treating.

We decided to avoid a bunch of hoop-la and just trick-or-treat in our neighborhood with the 4 of us.  Our neighborhood mostly consists of older, retired people.  This means there aren't a ton of trick-or-treaters, and all of the grandmas and grandpas give out handfuls of candy.  We basically went down the street 2 blocks and back down the next street and the girls' pumpkin buckets were full to the brim.
