Steve is off on an airplane again today. Trip number six in less than three months. Oh, and don't forget we were traveling for Christmas in the middle of that time. Yeah, it's been a wild couple months for us. I don't envy families that travel often (and don't get me started on single parents, they are amazing). This trip is a short one for a grant (did I mention that he's going to San Diego? Over Valentine's Day? I know, I should have gone with him. I thought of that...too late!). Four of the previous trips were for interviews. I am learning the (long) process of being on the job market in academia and I can't say I'm a huge fan. We are still waiting, waiting, waiting which is hard, hard, hard. In trying to stay positive, I am SO incredibly proud of Steve that he had four interviews in a tough job market and I know he did very well, his very best, with each of the interviews. We know we are also blessed beyond belief that, no matter what happens, he still has a (great) job here, we have a wonderful (little) home, friends, a church, etc, etc.
All that being said, we'd REALLY like to get a call with an offer of a university faculty position for Steve. He deserves it and we are ready (as can be). We would greatly appreciate prayers for a job offer in the next few weeks. Please pray, too, that we would wait well and have unwavering trust that God will ensure that we are exactly where he wants us to be now and always. Thank you for all of your thoughts and prayers!
In our thoughts and prayers, always!
ReplyDeleteDitto Grampa Bill. Will add that specific prayer. We, too, are so proud of Steve for all of his hard work. And of Sher for all you do for your family. You are both amazing to us. All our love on Valentines day and always.
ReplyDeleteSelfishly, I don't want him to get a job! But, for the sake of your family, I will pray that he gets a great offer. You're right... you will be where you're meant to be.
