Ruby LOVES arts and crafts. She's always coloring but just recently started drawing actual objects.
I love love her pictures.
(That's a family portrait!) There's a snowman picture that is probably the cutest ever. I'm using it for a special little project so I'll have to wait to share it here.
I've been putting off teaching Ruby to read, even though she knows all of her letters and sounds, because she doesn't need to read yet, right?! But I think it's probably time since she also started writing. Like real words! It's very exciting. I asked her what she was doing one afternoon and she said she was writing "best day ever". When I looked at her paper she had writing "b d er". The teacher in me was incredibly impressed. She also wrote a few of the words on leaves for our thankful tree. Apparently Ada was thankful for her ladybug so Ruby wrote "LDB" and asked for help with the "G". This one might be one of my favs!
We think she's the bees knees!
(Dad said he was taking her to get
juice. Hmm.)
She's already better at drawing than I am!
ReplyDeleteRuby, you are a smart little whipper-snapper! Can't wait to see you all soon!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean! Storytime takes so long around here because she has to sound out the words and try to read. So fun to see, but I don't want the pre-reading stage to end. It will force Jaime and I will to develop a new code :)
