That's how I felt when I realized I was going to be flying from St. Louis to Minneapolis with both girls. By myself! My friend, Laurie, was a lifesaver, rushing out of school to drive us to the airport and helping us get checked in. The DVD player she loaned us kept Ruby busy and it ended up being a smooth flight. I'm sure there were several eyes rolled in my direction as I fumbled through the security lines and boarded the plane with 2 little ones, a double stroller, carseat, diaper bag, purse, and who-knows-what-else. I was too busy to notice and just thankful none of us was crying! Ruby is such a seasoned traveler I needn't be worried.
This was our conversation the day before:
Mom: Ruby do you want to fly on an airplane and go see Gaga and Grandpa?
Ruby: Yeah. Someone's gonna give me pretzels when I put my tray down! And I'm gonna get water and put it in the little circle on my tray!
(Shouldn't surprise me, this was the girl who told us her favorite part of flying was the snacks!)
Ada was all smiles during the flight too!
The loooooooooong drive back was much more eventful...
I can't tell you how much we appreciated your effort to be with us.
