She talks all of the time and is beginning to string more and more words together in "sentences". Her favorite word for the last few months has been "This?" as in "What's this/that?" Sometimes she'll point to an object and ask "this?" over and over until you've told her 5 or 6 times and then she seems satisfied that she's got it figured out!
Another funny thing that she sometimes will say is, "Steve, milk" when she wants a refill. Not sure where she got that from.
Ruby is quite addicted to her pacifier (which she calls "mine" for some unknown reason), loveys and milk.
She is NOT a morning person and often tells Steve "No! Nigh-night!" when he tries to wake her up to get ready. Last week she looked at me when I opened her bedroom door and said "Close it!" which I promptly did (while Steve and I stood in the hallway giggling).
Ruby has a shoe obsession and is especially partial to her pink cowboy boots (she's been known to nap in them)! She knows what she likes and will let you know if she doesn't like something you've picked out for her to wear. She also loves "parkly" (sparkly) things. I have a feeling she's going to be that kid that comes to Kindergarten wearing red boots, striped socks, a pink plaid skirt, mismatched shirt, and a side ponytail that she obviously did herself! (I always loved that kid!)

She loves music and starts dancing as soon as it's turned on. She's also started singing along to songs on the radio when she can pick up the words... "hands up"... "like it"..."baby".
She's very interested in the toilet/potty, but mostly when other people are going!
When ever Ruby gets her hands on one of our phones she puts it right up to her ear and walks out of the room pretending to make a phone call. She typically calls "Kerry" or "Gaga"!

We are proud that Ruby has taking a liking to our favorite neighborhood restaurant, Mi Ranchito! She loves flirting with the Mexican waiters and they taught her how to say "hola" last time we were there. As soon as we get seated she starts yelling "dilla" because she's so anxious to get her cheese quasadilla and beans. Is that a sign we eat there too often?!
Speaking of food, Ruby has become fond of dipping... grilled cheese in tomato soup, berries in yogurt, bananas in BBQ pork, whatever! Her motto is; if it can be dipped, it must be good!

In baby news...
This one's giving me a run for my money all ready! I'm thinking this is going to be an easy baby...he/she has to be easier on the outside than he/she's been on the inside, right?!!!
We have not been good about documenting the growing belly this time (poor, deprived second child!) and I'm not sure I want to start... I think my booty is trying to balance out my growing belly! Oh, well, maybe that will help my back problems!
Ruby has no clue there is a baby on the way, but she is learning how to be a big girl. She has to walk more holding my hand, she can climb in and out of the car and into her carseat, and she's been climbing into her highchair by herself for a month now!
We get to hear the heartbeat at every doctor's appointment and I've started to feel movement the last couple weeks! We have the "big" ultra-sound in a couple more weeks!! Can't believe how fast it's going!

I love the new pics and post. Thanks so much for taking the time to share. What a big girl Ruby is getting to be. She is growing so fast and learning so many things. Still cuter than a bug's ear. I hope your days get better each day Sheri. That little bugger has some explaining to do for all the grief. Love you all and look forward to spending some time with you in Madison.
ReplyDeleteLiliana's into "That?"--would be a good complement to Ruby's "This?" :) I agree--Baby #2 is going to be super easy on the outside. Between Baby being easy and Ruby being your little helper, you'll have plenty of time to relax ;) ps. Ruby's hair is super cute!
