A (Very) White Christmas

I was thinking about doing a word-less post titled "Pictures of Christmas" to share our holiday vacation, but I quickly realized that wouldn't work. You see, we were blessed to spend our Christmas(es) with lots of loved ones and, in doing so, we basked in the moments instead of taking pictures. And without pictures of all of the "Gagas" and "Gampas" and loved ones we couldn't tell the whole story. So instead I will tell you we had so much fun this Christmas! Although there are few pictures of our families, they really were the highlight of our Christmas! Our little Ru-Ru was totally spoiled with love, attention, (and a few toys!) in Wisconsin and Minnesota. We thoroughly enjoyed spending our entire week with family and still didn't get a chance to see everyone we had hoped to see.

Both sets of Grandparents were excited to show Ruby the winter wonderland they have up north this year. Ruby wasn't so sure about the white stuff at first. I don't blame her, after all, the drifts were well above her head!

She hated getting bundled up, but ended up loving the sled! Every time she spotted a sled she asked begged to go for a "bide".

Oh, my goodness! All of my "Gagas" and "Gampas" spoiled me this year!

Ruby took it all in, learning all the names of everyone she met (pets included!) and turned into a little ham showing off all of her tricks. She quickly learned which words to say to get a good reaction. Top two: "blueberries" (which sounds like "blueblelerlies") and "wazzzz-up" (thanks to the Halling boys!). She also learned how to cheese it up for the camera!

(That is, by the way, the best picture we have of Ruby in her Christmas dress. How did we not take a family picture at any of our numerous Christmas celebrations?!)

Hope we are all rested up and ready to get back into the swing of things tomorrow!

It was a wonderful holiday! Thank you for all of the fun times, amazing meals, cheese curds, yummy cookies, and generous presents. (And sorry to those we didn't get a chance to celebrate with- we missed you and you were in our hearts!)

We hope you were able to spend time with those you love this holiday season and felt the love of a little baby born in a stable!

  1. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! What a joy it was to have you all with us for so many days. Ruby is cuter and more fun each time we see her (oh and did I mention SMART?!) Our hearts melted every time she said Gapa, Gamma, or Nama (Sam). We are very blessed! Happy New Year!

What a wonderful time we had with all of you. Thank you for sharing your time with us and all of your effort to get here. We treasure the moments and find ourselves reliving the "berries" and "pizza" and "peaches" and "thank you" and all the words that little whippersnapper can say. We feel very blessed to have you three in our lives. Have a great 2011.
